Once Upon A Time

Small, Red, Fox-Dog
“nom nom nom nom”

Once Upon A Time, in the Kindgdom of Dawn, there was a small, red dog that was occasionally – no, almost ALWAYS – mistaken for a fox. The small, red fox-dog had an extraordinarily happy life with her owner; until one beautiful sunny day, her owner brought home a small, loud, and smelly tiny-master. The tiny-master didn’t play fetch. The tiny-master didn’t give her pats, or treats. The tiny-master couldn’t even go for a WALK. The tiny-master was pathetic. The fox-dog would have been content if that was the worst of it, but no. The tiny-master distracted the big master so much that sometimes the master forgot to feed the fox-dog – and WORSE – there were less walks. Sometimes NO WALKS. It was depressing. Just when the fox-dog was about to give up hope, she noticed her master started carrying with her a small book. The small book was full of dots. The master spent time every morning writing in the small book and, like magic, the fox-dog had plenty of food, play-time everyday, and all the walks she could want. The small, red, fox-dog suspected that the book had some sort of magic spell over her master because the master started getting a little crazy about it and began carrying it with her everywhere, but since the general state of the kingdom was improving, the fox-dog decided that some magic spells must be worth the price. To her absolute horror, it wasn’t long before the master brought home a SECOND TINY-MASTER. This one was noisier and smellier than the last one, but this one gave pats, and cookies, and even though she couldn’t walk she was a good tiny-master. The fox-dog vowed to keep the tiny-masters, the big masters, and the magic book safe for all eternity. Then one day the masters started selling copies of the tiny book and they all lived happily ever after. The End.

I’m Julie Packham and I am the owner of Dawn Fox Studio. I am a busy working mom, with a creative mind that is constantly seeking new forms of expression. With the help of my husband Tyler, I created Dawn Fox to bring my vision of a life of organization to others who seek balance between daily life and a need to express themselves creatively.

The name Dawn Fox came partly from the township of Dawn where our farm is located, and my Carolina Dog, Fia, that strongly resembles a red fox. We are located in the cozy town of Dresden, Ontario Canada where we are currently busy farming, journaling, and raising our two beautiful girls.
